The Philadelphia Eagles' offense has their concerns going into the 2026 season, but if they can get their running game going, there is no stopping this unit at all.
Philly's backfield has some weapons that were a bit overlooked last season. Of course, Saquon Barkley was not one of those players overlooked after a 2024 campaign in which he rushed for over 2,000 yards, but he did regress last year, finishing with 1,140 yards and seven touchdowns.
It was Barkley's backup, Tank Bigsby, who caught everyone off guard as he went from being a failed kickoff returner to averaging a staggering 5.9 yards per carry in 2025. With those two teaming up, they have a chance to be one of the best running back duos in the NFL.
Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby are among the best RB duos going into 2026
Bleacher Report writer Moe Moton ranked the top 10 running back duos in the NFL going into the 2026 campaign. Barkley and Bigsby were ranked sixth on the list.
"Saquon Barkley's decorated resume, coupled with Tank Bigsby showing promise in stretches over the last two years, propelled this duo over Rico Dowdle and Jaylen Warren."
"Entering his age-29 campaign, Barkley could see a slight decline in touches after Bigsby flashed potential as his primary backup last season. Philly Voice's Geoff Mosher thinks the latter could see an increase in snaps this year."
"Entering his age-25 campaign, Bigsby may be only scratching the surface of his potential. With more touches, he could be one of the league's top No. 2 running backs by the end of the 2026 term."
Everyone assumes Barkley will keep regressing, which might open the door for Bigsby to get more touches and help on offense. Last year, that's what should have happened with Bigsby getting involved more, but former offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo wanted Barkley in there more often.
New Eagles offensive play-caller Sean Mannion is going to require more of a running back split, even if it is 65-35 Barkley over Bigsby, but there's no doubt Bigsby is going to be more involved. Philly should try to save Barkley from taking more hits in the backfield and let Bigsby have the ball, as he has been just as electric and explosive as Barkley can be.

A lot of what happens with the running game is dependent on the offensive line staying healthy this year, but if the Eagles can get Barkley and Bigsby rolling, this offense is not going to be easy to stop.
