The NFL playoffs are made for stars to be born with the most clutch moments they will ever have, with the lights at their brightest.

After decades of postseason success, the Philadelphia Eagles understand this lesson better than anyone else, as they have seen some standouts emerge from the playoffs. From Nick Foles to Jalen Hurts, this is where players can become very rich people by putting up the best performances of their careers.

There is one Eagles player who is on the heels of this happening after a career season, but a few more stellar playoff performances, and Philly will have no excuses to pay him the money he deserves.

Jordan Davis could be in for a massive contract with a good game vs. 49ers

The Eagles roll into the NFC Wild Card game against the San Francisco 49ers with the defense playing its best football. Thanks in part to the performance of defensive tackle Jordan Davis, this unit is playing at an elite level.

During the offseason, Davis's fifth-year option on his rookie deal was picked up, but many knew he still had work to do to get more money. He answered the call in a massive way after losing 26 pounds in the offseason, transforming into a new player.

This season, Davis has racked up 72 tackles, nine tackles for loss, eight quarterback pressures, six quarterback hits, six pass deflections, 4.5 sacks, one field goal block, and one block returned for a touchdown in 17 games. He played 61% of the defensive snaps, a career-high he shattered with the other being 45% in 2023.

It has been a completely different Davis on the field as he has more endurance to stay on the field more and is simply faster than he ever has been. He's improved as a pass rusher and has become a more complete defensive lineman.

A lot has been asked of Davis this season, with Jalen Carter being hurt for part of the season. Davis stepped up in a way that Eagles fans didn't think he was ever going to. He truly was a completely different player from the one that has played in Philly over the last three years before 2025.

Most believe Davis was snubbed of a Pro Bowl selection as he had the best season of his career and was the most important player on the Eagles' defense. A strong performance against the 49ers could be what Davis needs to build his legacy and earn himself a big check in the offseason.
