For the Philadelphia Eagles, the 2025 season was truly a tale of two vastly different football units.
This past season saw an offense that often failed to truly take flight, a unit befallen by futile playcalling, a lackluster offensive scheme, and underlying turmoil stirred by a certain star wideout turned New England Patriot.
Meanwhile, the defense showed a propensity for domination, providing plenty of memorable moments in a season that illustrated just how dangerous they can be. On four separate occasions, the defense held opposing offenses to 12 points or fewer, including a 31-0 shutout over the visiting Raiders in week 15. That game, as fans will recall, was a bit irregular, with the beleaguered Raiders stumbling into the contest on offense, but there were other tight matchups against top-flight offenses that highlighted just how imposing this Eagles' defensive unit truly was.
Here's a look back at three of the most dominant efforts rendered by the defense in 2025.
Top Eagles defensive performances in 2025 season
Week 10 at Green Bay Packers (10-7 win)
Moro Ojomo feasted in this Lambeau Field affair, sniffing out a critical Green Bay fourth-and-one from inside the host Packers' own territory late in the contest. With head coach Matt Lafleur, and, of course, current Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion serving as Green Bay's quarterbacks coach, the Packers' vaunted passing attack was absolutely shut down.
Quarterback Jordan Love was sacked three times and threw for a meager 176 yards, finding next to nothing open downfield thanks to a stifling Birds secondary that blanked the Packers' aerial attack. A lone rushing touchdown by Josh Jacobs paid minimal dividends for Green Bay, as Philadelphia's front seven held the star running back in check, allowing just 3.5 yards per carry.
Week 11 vs. Detroit Lions (16-9 win)
The visiting Lions found themselves in a world of trouble on offense at the Linc, as time and again, Dan Campbell's squad rolled the dice and got denied on fourth down. In total, Detroit went for it five times on fourth down, with a swarming and highly alert Eagles defense denying them all five times.
A dangerous Detroit offense was manhandled from start to finish, mustering just a trio of field goals as Cooper DeJean also provided a key interception in the Sunday night affair.
Week 17 at Buffalo Bills (13-12 win)
The weather wasn't the only unforgiving factor in the team's Week 17 trip to Buffalo, as the visiting Philadelphia defense swarmed superstar signal-caller Josh Allen early and often. Punishing plays, including a pair of sacks by Jalyx Hunt, left Allen and the Bills offense stupefied, with the Bills going scoreless through nearly 57 minutes of regulation.

With Allen able to scramble up the gut with five seconds remaining to draw the host Bills within one, a 2-point conversion passing attempt from Allen to Khalil Shakir fell short, and the visitors left upstate New York with another low-scoring, grind-it-out victory in tow.
