Eagles fans shouldn't be thrown off too much about who biggest trade assets are

With the Super Bowl complete, NFL teams, including the Philadelphia Eagles, are now in full swing during their off-season regimen.

Teams are currently focusing on this year's draft class while reevaluating their talent pool from the 2025 season. For Eagles general manager Howie Roseman, with the sour taste of an underwhelming 2025 season, he should have no problem making high-impact trades that hopefully increase the chances of an Eagles Super Bowl run.

One asset that Roseman has at his disposal is the talented but troubled A.J. Brown, who Bleacher Report writer Alex Ballentine believes is Philadelphia's biggest asset this offseason to trade.

A.J. Brown and two other Eagles are easy trade assets in 2026 offseason

While Brown is coming off his fourth consecutive 1,000-yard season, his impact off the field garnered more headlines than on it. Between cryptic tweets, less-than-stellar post-game interviews, and the occasional sideline outburst, many believe Brown's time in Philadelphia has run its course.

While the Eagles would love to jettison Brown, his contract presents some obstacles. A trade would cost $20 million in cap space, which would also trigger several incentives and bonuses in his contract.

Per The Athletic, Brown and the Eagles' relationship has failed to improve since their loss against the 49ers, with Dianna Russini reporting that the issues between Brown and the organization remained "unresolved". With communication lacking and no amicable situation in sight, Roseman could make several calls in hopes that the Eagles recoup some of their loss through draft capital during the offseason.

Brown has been a high-impact player for Philadelphia since coming over from the Titans in 2022, earning three Pro Bowls and two All-Pros in addition to his impact during the 2024 Super Bowl season. However, with so much friction in the Eagles organization, his time seems to have run its course.

Brown signed a three-year extension that has him under contract until the 2029 offseason, per Spotrac. He has a potential out after the 2026 season. Trading Brown could free up the Eagles' $10.1 million in cap space, per Bleacher Report.

Ballentine also believes that two other reserve players could net solid returns this offseason. Reserve offensive lineman Tyler Steen could be a solid trade piece for several teams due to his versatility, and he is in the final year of his rookie deal, which pays him approximately $3.7 million in 2026. The Eagles also have nickelback Michael Carter II, whom they acquired in the John Metchie trade. Carter failed to make an impact in 2025 for Philadelphia; however is due approximately $10.2 million per Spotrac in 2026.

While Philadelphia doesn't have the luxury of possessing tradeable contracts, general manager Howie Roseman has been known to be a "wizard" when dealing with the cap. Look for the Eagles to continue making several "splashes" this offseason in hopes of rebounding from the 2025 season, which fell well short of expectations.
