The ups and downs season of Jalen Hurts during his 16 starts in 2025 gave Eagles fans plenty of mixed emotions for his output this season.

With Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski breaking down the NFL's QB rooms from all 32 teams, Hurts and his backup, Tanner McKee, find themselves at #15, for their performance this season.

"Hurts' experienced four-year lows with this year's completion percentage and average yards per attempt. He went long stretches without being able to move the Eagles' offense, with the team winning two games after the quarterback didn't complete a single pass during the second half of those contests. Nearly every week, questions about whether the Eagles could figure out what's wrong with the offense came to head. The unit dealt with a new coordinator calling plays and injuries to its offensive line. Still, Philadelphia does enough to win games. The Eagles have a strong formula and roster proven over time, even when everything is not clicking. But the organization and its coaching staff should demand more, which starts with Hurts' performance."

While fans will often leave Eagles performances wanting "more" from Jalen Hurts, specifically in a passing capacity, Philadelphia continues to win, with Hurts owning a 57-25 record as their franchise quarterback, en route to their second consecutive NFC East title.

However, despite the success, the Eagles' offense saw plenty of inconsistent play this season, with blame ranging from offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo to Hurts to head coach Nick Sirianni's failure to manage the situation effectively.

With the Eagles quarterbacks under the tutelage of a first-year offensive coordinator, Hurts saw four-year lows in completion percentage and average yards per attempt. The Eagles also have long offensive droughts, with the team winning in spite of Hurts (and the offense) rather than because of it.

Hurts benefited from winning two games despite not completing a pass in the second half. Hurts' 2025 season was also highlighted by a five-turnover game in which the Eagles lost to the Los Angeles Chargers 22-19.

The Eagles' offense under Patullo looks extremely similar to the 2023 unit led by Brian Johnson (who was fired after the season), while Hurts received the brunt of the criticism, his backup, Tanner McKee, also dealt with issues from less-than-stellar play-calling. With the Eagles up the majority of the game and missing key offensive pieces due to rest, Patullo opted to throw over 40 times, especially with the lead.

The Eagles have the pieces for either quarterback to be considered top 10 in the NFL. When the unit is unorganized and under-coached, the team has seen less-than-optimal QB play.

While it appears that Patullo is on the hot seat, a change at coordinator and philosophy could make or break Hurts' future in Philadelphia moving forward.
