The Philadelphia Eagles have begun work at training camp, and they are ready to erase the memories of 2025.
While the season in general was not great, there were some nice parts to it that can get Eagles fans excited for 2026. The Athletic's Zach Berman likes for one of the few bright spots of 2025 to emerge from the bench and be a star in training camp. Berman is keeping his eyes on running back Tank Bigsby.
"The Tank Bigsby hype will grow after camp. He averaged 5.9 yards per carry last season on 58 carries, teasing the type of explosiveness that made him a threat in the offense. Bigsby will get the ball in different ways this summer and will continue to showcase why he’s the clear No. 2 running back and also one of the Eagles’ top offensive weapons, even as a reserve."
Tank Bigsby is a star in the making at Eagles training camp
There may not be an Eagles player in recent memory who had the turnaround that Bigsby had. He was traded after Week 1 to the Eagles to help replace an injured Will Shipley on special teams as a returner. That did not go well, and Bigsby was called a mistake of a move to make.
As the season went on, though, Bigsby started getting carries in the backfield and proved to be quite the weapon out of the backfield. He finished the regular season with 356 rushing yards and two touchdowns, averaging a staggering 5.9 yards per carry in an Eagles uniform.
It was stunning to see Bigsby become such a weapon in the Eagles' offense. Unfortunately for him, former Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo just refused to use him often and elected to keep running the ball with Saquon Barkley.
Eagles fans are hoping new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion has learned from Patullo's mistakes and lets Bigsby have more touches. While Barkley should still get more carries, Bigsby should have at least 10 carries a game and be more involved in the offensive game plan.
Bigsby has the ability to break off a long run at any point. His speed crossing the line of scrimmage doesn't get talked about nearly enough. At times last year, Bigsby looked like he had more juice to him than Barkley did.

There's a strong chance that Bigsby comes out of camp as a man who will get plenty of touches in 2026. He's too good just to keep leaving him on the bench for long.
