There's a lot happening in Philadelphia just one day before the Eagles take on the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card.
So far, backup offensive lineman Brett Toth has been ruled out of the 49ers' game with a concussion. Also, starting right tackle Lane Johnson's status for the match is even more in question than it was earlier in the week after being listed as questionable in the final injury report.
To top off a busy weekend, the Eagles have announced two roster moves for the contest. Long snapper Charley Hughlett and defensive back Andre' Sam have been moved up from the practice squad to now on the active roster.
Eagles getting key players to move up, but is something else coming up for Philly?
Hughlett is no surprise, as he has been the starting long snapper for the team, and the Eagles have been simply better with him in the lineup. It's been odd, but the team has a winning record when he is on the field.
Sam has played in three games this season, racking up one tackle. He's been more of a special teams player, but he helps as a backup defensive back with rookie safety Andrew Mukuba on IR with a broken ankle.
It's interesting that the team did not bring up or add any offensive linemen, with Toth out and Johnson questionable. This could mean either that the Eagles are comfortable with the players on the active roster right now or that it's good news for Johnson, as he is more likely to play.
