Under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, the Philadelphia Eagles need a spark to the offense that has been missing over the last year.
The hope is that the 2026 NFL Draft might provide them with an offensive weapon they have never had before. Georgia Tech running back Jamal Haynes might be that guy, as he told NFL Draft On SI's Justin Melo that he has met with the Eagles this offseason.
"I attended the Atlanta Falcons’ local day workout. I also worked out privately for the Philadelphia Eagles at Georgia Tech."

Haynes could be quite the weapon for Philly as his college career started out promising, with 1,059 yards and seven touchdowns in his first year in 2023, earning third-team All-ACC selection honors. His numbers dipped after that, as he's coming off a 531-yard, five-touchdown performance, but he did have a career high in receptions (33) and receiving yards (257) last season.
What an interesting selection it would be to bring in Haynes, as he is projected to be a Day 3 selection. He ran a 4.52-second 40-yard dash in the offseason, standing at 5-foot-7.
Eagles fans might be reminded a bit of Darren Sproles when they see Haynes on the field, as he could be a sneaky weapon on offense, as he might be able to help in the passing and running game. Haynes did return a few kickoffs in his college career, so that might be his ticket onto a 53-man roster in the return game.
Philly's backfield is already crowded with Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley, and Dameon Pierce. Haynes would have to make it with his special teams and most likely beat out Shipley and Pierce for that final spot among the running backs.

There are going to be a lot of options in the draft if the Eagles really want to add a running back, but Haynes might be the most intriguing and one that Mannion might have a hard time ignoring.
