Carson Wentz: A rookie no more (Highlights included)
You can officially remove the word rookie from in front of the word quarterback.
There’s really no way to prove what we’re about to say. To tell the truth, it’s hard to remember where we heard it, but there was a story floating around draft time. That story was the Philadelphia Eagles were never torn about whether to take Carson Wentz or Jared Goff with the second pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
It’s obvious that whatever they did was completely based on what the Los Angeles Rams did with the first pick, but as rumor would have it, the Eagles would have gone with Wentz if they had the first pick in the draft. They were apparently that sold on the kid.
Don’t look now ladies and gentlemen, but it’s almost been one year since last year’s draft. Time flies right? There’s been a 3-0 start, some sloppy play and even a chance to make the playoffs late in the season. Make no mistake about it. Even through a difficult stretch of games toward the middle of 2016, it’s been established. “The Wentz Wagon” isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
So we stayed up late (as we sometimes do here at ITI), scoured the web for highlights and came across one of the best highlight reels we’ve seen in a while. As former Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens would say, “getcha popcorn ready”.
Take a look:
If that doesn’t get you hyped, you may not have a pulse, but it’s okay. The Eagles have found their franchise quarterback. The same can be said for the Dallas Cowboys, but two things are certain. One, we’re looking at some great games between these two franchises for the next ten years or so (maybe more). Secondly, there isn’t an Eagles fan alive who would give up Wentz for Dak Prescott. That’s not a shot at the latter. It’s just a testament to how dedicated this franchise and its’ fanbase is to Mr Wentz.
He was recently on the Dan Patrick Show. Check out his interview in its’ entirety.
Now, is it just us? Is this not the most mature 24 year old that you’ve ever seen? Yep, the Eagles got it right with this time. No direspect to Dak Prescott, but the Cowboys can have him. We’ll take this guy any day. It’s going to be hard to wait for the 2017 season.
