There may be all kinds of questions being asked about the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive line, but when it comes to starting right tackle Lane Johnson, no one denies how great he is.
A foot injury ruined Johnson's great start to his 2025 season. In 262 pass-blocking snaps, he didn't allow a single sack, showing that he would have been a Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection if he hadn't missed the last seven games in the regular season.
The real question about Johnson is whether he is still among one of the best players in the NFL. That was answered in a recent article that shows where he lands.
One NFL writer ranks Lane Johnson among the best in the league
FanSided writers Cody Williams and Jake Beckman ranked the top 50 players entering the 2026 season. Johnson was the highest-ranked Eagle, landing at nine.
"Hand up: 2025 was not a good season for Lane Johnson," Beckman said. "He dealt with some pretty tough injuries that caused him to miss time during games, but the kicker was a Lisfranc (foot) injury that caused him to miss the last eight games of the season.Â
But this is Lane Johnson that we’re talking about … Missing a handful of games in one season isn’t going to take away from the Hall-of-Fame level of player that he is.Â
Since the pandemic, he’s played in 76 games. That’s 4,567 total offense snaps and 2,802 pass blocking snaps (per PFF) … And he’s only allowed five total sacks. It’s not like he’s getting help either. The vast majority of the time, the Eagles will throw him on an island and let him do his job.
He simply erases pass rushers from the field. Nick Bosa? Not a problem. Micah Parsons? Non-factor. Maxx Crosby? See ya.
Over the past decade, he’s been the best and most consistent right tackle in the NFL. Hell, the dude has such an amazing kickstep that people accuse him of cheating. That’s next-level stuff."
Johnson has had a great NFL career that will most likely end in him getting into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He has been a six-time Pro Bowler, a two-time first-team All-Pro, and won two Super Bowls with the Eagles.

The Eagles had two other players who were able to make the top 50 in the NFL list:
23. Saquon Barkley, RB
42. Cooper DeJean, CB
Barkley had a down season, but a lot of that was because the offensive line was banged up. He still finished with 1,140 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.
DeJean had a career year in just his second season in the NFL. He was second on the team in pass deflections with 16 and racked up 93 tackles and two interceptions. DeJean, along with his fellow cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, was named to the All-Pro team.

Three players making the Eagles list proves that they have all the talent in the world. Johnson being ninth, though, speaks volumes to the type of player and career he has had.
