While many fans may not care as much about Week 18 because of their teams either resting starters to prepare for the playoffs or being eliminated from playoff contention, multiple players are fighting to earn performance-based contract incentives.
The Philadelphia Eagles don't really have any players who are close to getting incentives, and that wouldn't even matter since head coach Nick Sirianni already decided to rest starters for their Week 18 matchup against the Washington Commanders. As for the Commanders, there are two key incentives to monitor.
Commanders wide receiver Deebo Samuel is 93 yards away from getting $200,000 for reaching 800 yards receiving on the season. Defensive end Von Miller needs one sack to hit nine for the season and earn $500,000.
Eagles can make sure they don't get their money in finale
Commanders fans are probably feeling like they will be able to get the job done against the Eagles' backups, but this is a team that has won with backups before. Last year, the Eagles rested their starters and still beat the New York Giants to close out the season.
Philly still has plenty of talent that can handle the Commanders. In the secondary, expect a lot of Kelee Ringo and rookie Mac McWilliams facing Samuel in passing situations, with Ringo raising questions from the Eagles fan base. Still, McWilliams looked decent enough in preseason that he might surprise some people.
Philly's offensive line has taken their hits with injuries and inconsistent play, but offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland is still great at his job and can get his guys ready to play. Watch out for Miller to get double-teamed to make sure he doesn't get to Tanner McKee.

The Eagles are focused on winning to potentially earn the number-two seed in the NFC, but stopping their rivals' players from getting paid is another good reason to beat them.
