If Philadelphia Eagles fans thought Kevin Patullo was taking a ton of heat for his play calling with the offense, wait until they read the wrath Jalen Hurts took from the local media.

After months of Patullo hearing the criticism from the Philly sports media, it's time for Hurts to have his day in the unwanted spotlight. SportsRadio 94 WIP had a field day coming back from the Thanksgiving holiday, with thoughts on the 24-15 Eagles loss to the Chicago Bears on Black Friday.

In the past, Patullo would have taken criticism, but Hurts had most of the attention. The intensity was turned up when two Eagles reporters over the weekend mentioned that Hurts had asked the team to run fewer quarterback-designed runs before the season. That news triggered a firestorm of criticism toward the franchise signal-caller.

Philly sports media lets Hurts know their feelings

Let's start with the always outspoken Joe Giglio. During his commentary, Giglio was letting Hurts have it with his play.

"We have a $50 million quarterback that does what well right now? Can anyone answer me one thing Jalen does well, right now?"

Joe DeCamara joined in, as he mentioned how he is putting more on Hurts than anyone else on the Eagles right now.

"Let me be very clear, I blame the quarterback a lot more than the two coaches. I really do. I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me, and that's fine."

The most shocking comments came from former Eagles defensive end Hugh Douglas, who almost feels betrayed by Hurts, as he pretty much called him a liar after the QB-designed run reports.

"If that's true, then Jalen lied to us. He lied to us because he said, and I quote 'I don't care what it looks like as long as we win.' And if that's the truth, if that's what's going on, then you do care what it looks like and you don't care about winning as much as you've claimed that you did. That's the bottom line."

Hurts' stats would indicate a quarterback regressing as a passer over the last four games. After completing over 70% of his passes in four games this season, Hurts has not even completed over 60% of his passes in three of the last four matchups.

His rushing numbers are down from last season as he has attempted 84 runs and is pacing for 119, which would be the lowest of his career. He's also tied for a career-low 3.9 yards per carry.

It'll be interesting to see if the Eagles reporters will push Hurts on the reports and ask him the tough question on whether he is willing to run the ball more to help the team win.
