While the Eagles should probably rely on the guys they already have at the cornerback position, there are available free-agent options if they look there to replace Avonte Maddox.

Might the Eagles explore free agency to find reinforcements at cornerback in light of Avonte Maddox's injury?

And, just like that, the game has changed. It appears as though the Philadelphia Eagles' quest to repeat as NFC champions AND get back to the Super Bowl and win it this time has seen a significant wrench thrown into their machine. Their starting cornerback Avonte Maddox has suffered a pectoral injury that may knock him out for the season.

Much of Philly's success in 2022 can be attributed to their ability to remain healthy. Just two games in, they have had to juggle the depth chart several times, particularly in the secondary.

They lost the man we thought would be their backup slot cornerback during a preseason game, Zech McPhearson. Early in Week 2's contest, they lost their starter, Maddox. Keep in mind the fact that a similar injury sent Brandon Brooks to the injured reserve in September of 2021. He announced his retirement a little over four months later.

The Eagles have several young Birds who will be asked to step up and shine, but if they're looking to explore free agency, there are some guys who are worth a mention. Let's count down what might be the top ten.
