The Eagles' second preseason game, one versus the Browns provides another opportunity for roster hopefuls to make impressions.

If you look around the Philadelphia Eagles fan base and check out what the hometown media is reporting, you'll approve of what's being said. Many of the young stars and new faces got the stamp of approval following Saturday's preseason game versus the Baltimore Ravens. After a disappointing showing versus the Cleveland Browns during Monday's joint practice, the Birds had a better showing on Tuesday.

Things got a little chippy. We learned Haason Reddick has a thumb issue and will miss time, but he should be ready come the regular season.

What's next on the agenda? You guessed it! A second preseason game is on the horizon. Young hopefuls have another opportunity to make an impression. So do some of the veterans. Jobs are on the line here.

There's really no kind way to say this. Had Philly been forced to trim their 90-man training camp roster to 53 players after game one, Ian Book would have been traveling through waivers.

He racked up 24 yards on five rushing attempts. That isn't bad, but he only completed one of four pass attempts and was on the wrong side of two bad-looking sacks. That isn't what you want. He'll need a better showing versus the Browns on Thursday.

Book will be looking to prove he deserves the QB3 role over Tanner McKee, but he isn't the only Bird fighting for a roster spot or some momentum.
