11 under the radar NFL Combine prospects that fill immediate Eagles needs
Well, that didn't work out as planned! The Philadelphia Eagles were supposed to get back to the Super Bowl and win it. Things started relatively well. Sure, we saw chinks in the armor, but 10-1 in the NFL is 10-1. That's nothing to sneeze at. We all know how things ended. Philly collapsed, and now things feel much different than they did at this time last offseason.
This time around, fewer people are confident. We've identified the needs though. There's one running back from last year's roster signed for next season. One of the young safeties will begin next season's campaign injured. Philly's starting outside cornerbacks are old. The Birds could use pass rushers and help at linebacker.
The coming NFL Scouting Combine will provide opportunities to find young talent. We know who the stars are that will be in attendance. Let's look at some guys who played at schools that we didn't watch often last season.
Dylan Laube (New Hampshire) & Rasheen Ali (Marshall), running backs
Dylan Laube may not be in anyone's top ten of the best tailbacks in this draft class, but everyone has him right on the outside of their list. He's a six-foot-one, 225-pound potential third-rounder that we expect to run the 40-yard dash in the 4.5-second range. He racked up 4.5 yards per carry, 715 yards rushing, 68 receptions, 699 yards receiving, and 16 total TDs this past season.
Rasheen Ali feels like a day-three draftee. He totaled 5.4 yards per carry, 1,135 yards rushing, 15 rushing touchdowns, 28 receptions, 213 yards receiving, and another trip to the end zone through the air. He stands at five-foot-eleven and tips the scales at 204 pounds.
Both could provide instant impact as the workhorse running back Philly has lacked. Jot their names down if you haven't already. Check out these other combine invitees as well.
