2024 NFL MVP Odds (Jalen Hurts tied with rival quarterback in opening odds)
By Peter Dewey
Jalen Hurts finished second in the NFL MVP voting in the 2022 season, but he took a step back (partially due to injuries) in the 2023 season for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Oddsmakers have placed Hurts at the No. 8 spot in the odds to win the MVP award next season, but only one NFC quarterback – Green Bay Packers youngster Jordan Love – is ahead of Hurts at this point in the offseason.
Does that give the Eagles star some value if he can lead Philly to a division title and potentially a top seed in the NFC?
Let’s examine the latest MVP odds for Hurts and one division rival that he’ll have to beat out for the award in 2024.

Jalen Hurts 2024 NFL MVP odds
The same team hasn’t won the NFC East in back-to-back seasons since the Eagles did so from 2001 through 2004, which is a great sign for Hurts’ MVP case.
With the New York Giants and Washington Commanders likely rebuilding in the 2024 season, this should be a two-team race for the division. If this trend holds up, Philly is in a great spot to take the NFC East crown back from Dallas.
To be honest, Hurts was not good as a passer in 2023, throwing just 23 touchdowns to 15 interceptions. The Eagles offense faltered down the stretch, but Hurts could turn things around if he’s healthier in 2024.
Plus, similar to this season’s MVP Lamar Jackson, Hurts has a unique ability to impact a game with his legs, and he’s likely to post a ton of rushing scores via the Brotherly Shove that could improve his MVP case.
There is a lot of competition for Hurts, but let’s not forget that he was on his way to winning this award in 2022 before getting injured and missing time.
Dak Prescott 2024 NFL MVP odds
One of the biggest competitors for Hurts in the NFC is Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott, who finished second in the NFL MVP voting in the 2023 season.
Prescott had a great season in 2023, throwing for a league-best 36 touchdowns while only tossing nine interceptions. He also led the league in completions. However, he came up short in the playoffs once again, and as a result Jordan Love is actually listed ahead of him (and Hurts) in the opening NFL MVP odds.
Eagles fans would love to see Hurts pull away from Prescott in these preseason odds ,but he’ll likely need to start the 2024 season strong to create some separation between the two rival quarterbacks.
