21 lesser-mentioned Eagles who look like locks to make the 2024 roster
Expect some of the familiar faces and role players to continue doing their part.
Again, it goes without saying that the Eagles stars are safe. Something tells us Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert will all make next year's roster.
That's a nice core of players as is this group of familiar faces that sometimes get overshadowed by bigger names and personalities.
17. Milton Williams, defensive tackle
When you have guys like Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, and Jalen Carter as teammates who play the same position that you do, it's easy to fade into the background. Milton Williams could start for a lot of NFL teams though.
He also won't become eligible for free agency until 2025. Oh yeah... He's going to be around, and we're lucky to have him on this roster.
18. Britain Covey, wide receiver/returner
From sacrificial lamb and crash-test dummy to one of the game's top punt returners, Britain Covey has earned his spot on the team. No one on this roster has put his body on the line more than this guy.
19. Shaun Bradley, linebacker/special teams
When the Eagles lost Shaun Bradley, they lost one of their best special teams players. We have seen how valuable the unit can be with talent, and Shaun has a lot of it. He's a 2024 pending free agent but someone who is worth hanging on to.
20. Marlon Tuipulotu, defensive tackle
You can take much of what was said about Milton Williams and copy and paste the text into the Marlon Tuipulotu portion of the discussion. He's a role player. He plays his role well. He'll be eligible for free agency in 2025 as well.
21. Kenneth Gainwell, running back
Kenneth Gainwell doesn't get the love from the fans that some of his Eagles teammates do. Keep this in mind though. His coaches and teammates love him. His rookie deals ends after next season.
He's going to be around. Good for him. He's better than he gets credit for being.
