At this latter point in the offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles roster for the upcoming 2024 NFL season is largely set. But, there's still time for the team to add a free agent, or two, before training camp officially gets underway later this month. There are still some good players available on the market and the Eagles have a couple of positions that would probably benefit from some added depth. With that said, here's a look at three sleeper free agents that Philadelphia could still look to sign.

Hunter Renfrow, Wide receiver

Adding veteran wide receiver Hunter Renfrow would make some sense for the Eagles, especially following the surprise retirement of DeVonte Parker, who was likely going to be the team's No. 3 receiver. Renfrow has experience as a slot receiver, which is exactly where he would line up in Philadelphia, and playing alongside the likes of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith would help to open things up for him in the middle of the field.

Renfrow has only eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in a season once in his career, but the Eagles wouldn't necessarily need him to put up big numbers. They would just need him to be an effective option. He has more experience than most of the other receivers on Philly's roster, plus he's still just 28 years old, so he should still have some productive football ahead of him.

Julio Jones, Wide receiver

If not Renfrow, how about a receiver who is already familiar with the team and organization? Julio Jones didn't blow the doors off anyone during his time in Philadelphia last season, but he did show that he can still be an effective pass-catcher, especially in the red zone, as he had three touchdown grabs in 11 games with the Eagles. Jones is a reliable veteran who could again benefit from lining up alongside Brown and Smith.

Justin Simmons, Safety

Upgrading the secondary was clearly a priority for the Eagles this offseason, and they did so by drafting Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean and bringing back C.J. Gardner-Johnson, but they could still look to add some talent there. The Eagles have been consistently mentioned as an ideal landing spot for Pro Bowl safety Justin Simmons, who is still looking for a new NFL home.

In addition to being a very good player, Simmons also has experience playing under new Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, as Fangio served as the head coach of the Broncos from 2019 to 2021. Having a player with experience could help Fangio implement his system with a new team, and similarly, Simmons' familiarity with the system could help him to thrive in a new setting.
