4 Eagles who are primed for breakout seasons in Kellen Moore's offense

Here are four Eagles we believe will take another step in Kellen Moore's offense (and two guys we just feel like mentioning).

If you simply look at the depth chart and roster, it feels like things could get exciting quickly. Kellen Moore comes to the City of Brotherly Love highly regarded. He's the Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator. Saying he has weapons is an understatement. It sort of feels like his unit could wake up on game day morning, roll out of bed, and put up 30 to 35 points.

Jalen Hurts enters year four as Philly's unquestioned starter. The offensive line... solid... And, that's after losing the legend Jason Kelce.

Philly rocked the headlines by adding Jahan Dotson in a rare in-division trade. We won't place any wagers on this or anything, but something tells us he has at least two games on the schedule circled. We'll be honest though. He is, at best, the fifth-best option in the offensive attack.

A.J. Brown... DeVonta Smith... Saquon Barkley... Yeah... Jahan won't be getting the ball a ton, but that's okay. He should already know that, but even with that said, there's room on this roster for a potential breakout (or four).

Dallas Goedert, tight end

We have said this every offseason since Zach Ertz left, but Dallas Goedert is one of the best young tight ends for the game. Some will argue over stats, but one must remember. He's just one piece of a leaded offensive attack. He has also missed eight games over the past two seasons because of injuries.

Had he not missed five games in 2022, he would have enjoyed his first 1,000-yard season of his career. Even still, despite missing those five games, he tallied 702 big ones.

Here are two predictions. First, he'll start all 17 games this season. The second is a tad bolder. He, A.J., and DeVonta will all eclipse 1,000 yards receiving.

Cam Jurgens, center

You might be worried about Cam Jurgens. We sure as heck aren't. Is he Jason Kelce? No, he isn't, but come on. Who in the heck is?

Forget your concerns about the Brotherly Shove. Cam is undersized, but he's extremely athletic. Hmmm... Where have we heard that before?

Future Pro Football Hall of Famers are future Pro Football Hall of Famers for a reason. Cam doesn't need to be Jason Kelce. He simply needs to be Cam Jurgens. The rest will take care of itself. We won't promise postseason accolades, but we can promise you, at some point, this guy will make you forget about Jason Kelce... if only for a second or two.

Mekhi Becton, right guard

A First-Team All-ACC nod in 2019 and a first-round NFL Draft selection in 2020, Mekhi Becton has the tools of a Pro Bowler. He just hasn't been given the designation yet, but he has never played under Jeff Stoutland either.

Injuries have also been an issue for the six-foot-seven, 363-pounder, but he appears to be healthy now. That's huge. The pun was intended.

We expect a Pro Bowl season or to complain about him being a worthy snub. Either way, expect some complimentary discussion.

Will Shipley, running back

Will Shipley isn't getting the rock much with Saquon Barkley and Kenneth Gainwell ahead of him on the depth chart. Who are we kidding? We aren't going to see a ton of Kenny G.

Shipley has the tools to make a name for himself as a runner, receiver, and returner. Good things are coming from the rookie, and they may be coming sooner than expected.

Worth mentioning: Saquon Barkley

We have mentioned Saquon Barkley twice already (but briefly). Seems like a good time to do so again. How can we mention this Eagles' offense without mentioning him?

Think about what he's done while often being the New York Giants' lone offensive weapon. Now, think of him on this offense and running behind this line. You see where this is headed, right?

Philly's O-line helped produce Pro Bowl seasons for Miles Sanders and D'Andre Swift. What do you think Saquon will be able to accomplish?

Also worth mentioning: Jordan Mailata

Jordan Mailata has come a long way. From having to be taught how to put his helmet on to being named a team captain ahead of the 2024-25 Eagles season.

Like Becton, he hasn't earned a Pro Bowl mention yet. Some might argue it hasn't been because he wasn't deserving. Sometimes, good players are overshadowed by playing next to fantastic teammates.

Kelce's departure opens the door for Mailata to possibly earn praise that he previously hadn't. Stay tuned. This is a storyline that we'll be monitoring closely.
