4 Eagles who were the hammer in Week 14, four who were nails

It was a rough affair in Arlington. Let's talk about some of the individual performances we saw from our Philadelphia Eagles.

Nail: Jalen Hurts, quarterback

As good as he has been, Jalen Hurts is not above criticism. We have seen Philly's QB1 put on the Superman cape and carry his team to victory on more than one occasion, but against the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, he hasn't been at his best.

Can he turn it around? We'd love to think so, but his coaches have to help him. Fair or unfair, he received a massive extension, and this is the type of pressure that comes when that happens.

Two of the NFC's best teams have knocked him to the canvas. We're hoping he has a counterpunch.

Nail: Bradley Roby, slot cornerback

When this season began, Bradley Roby was at home and on no one's roster. He's also 31. It was silly to believe he'd provide the elixir to cure Philly's ills at slot cornerback.

He won't be benched, but that's because the Eagles don't have anyone to replace him with. He's better than Eli Ricks if we're to be fair. We know that, but that doesn't say much. Here's where we are.

As the season wears on, quarterbacks will throw in his direction. They'll find success more than not. This is a massive hole on the defensive side of the ball. We'll see what happens moving forward.
