A pair of question marks

It doesn't take much to get the Eagles contingent excited. It also doesn't take much to get them talking. We have hung out on social media and practice. We have exchanged texts and phone calls with fellow lovers of our Birds. There's a buzz growing. Inquiring minds are also asking what should be expected during the preseason and the coming campaign.

What types of lineups will we see as different players are shuffled up and down the depth chart?

Cam Jurgens took starting reps during the first two sessions of practice. It appears he's the guy the Eagles' coaching staff prefers in the battle for the starting right guard position. Expect them to give a lot of guys opportunities as practices wear on.

Don't make too much of times when you see surprise players running with the first and second team. The coaching staff is taking extended looks at everyone.

How high can this defense soar under new Eagles defensive coordinator Sean Desai?

Sean Desai is very impressive. There's more to winning in the NFL than winning the media over, but he has a lot of personality and his guys love him. Everyone is running around and making plays. It's too early to make guesses about whether or not another 70 sacks and 17 interceptions are possible during the regular season, but we believe this will be a violent bunch that hustles.

Honorable mention: We're back to QB2, Marcus Mariota.

According to Eliot Shorr-Parks' training camp stats (something he has become well-known for), Marcus Mariota has completed 14 of his 19 pass attempts. Following a tough start on Wednesday, he bounced back with a better showing on Friday.

He has thrown one TD pass and one pick (to Christian Elliss). Still, the question remains. Do we trust this guy to win games if Jalen Hurts misses time?

Don't get too excited. Don't worry either. There's a lot of work that needs to be done here.
