5 Eagles leaders that can fuel a Super Bowl run and a new guy we hope does the same
By Matt Grazel
The leaders in the Eagles' locker room must step up as Philly prepares for what we hope is a Super Bowl run.
Weeks 13 and 14 have given the Philadelphia Eagles a wake-up call. Their fans have had a crisis of confidence after their game last Sunday in Arlington. Following consecutive blowout defeats to the two clubs that represent their primary competition to win the NFC, the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia is in uncharted territory.
The Birds have gone from a Super Bowl contender to a pretender in the span of a few weeks in the minds of some. Their remaining four contests are against teams that are currently on the outside of the playoff picture:- the Seattle Seahawks, the New York Giants (Philly plays them twice), and the Arizona Cardinals.
Seattle has a chance to qualify for the postseason but has lost four games in a row. They are Philly's next opponent. Geno Smith is expected to be available despite a groin injury.
New York needs to win their remaining contests. They'll also need help to qualify. Arizona hasn't officially been eliminated. We'll know their fate in the next week or two.
The homestretch provides a good opportunity for Philly to get back on track and finish the regular season on a high note. The margin for error is small, but each game is winnable Here are four locker room leaders that can help fuel a Super Bowl run (and a new guy we hope does the same).
