The first Eagles game of the preseason looms, and discussions about the roster are heating up.

We have settled into August rather comfortably. Gosh, this year is flying by, isn't it? Here's where we stand, and maybe you can agree. Reaching the eighth month of the calendar year means another Philadelphia Eagles regular season is set to begin. That's all it takes to cause a smile to creep across our faces.

Make sure you're placing all of the important dates on your calendars. Things are going to move quickly now. Ahead of Saturday's preseason tilt, a clash with the Baltimore Ravens, we're digging into five of about 100 questions we have been asking at camp. There's seemingly no better place to start than at the quarterback position.

Is Ian Book going to lose the battle for QB3 to Eagles rookie Tanner McKee?

Much was made about the fact that 2023 sixth-round selection Tanner McKee wasn't very athletic and graded out as a pocket passer/stationary target for an opposing team's pass rush. The Eagles seem to have something here though. Tanner is outplaying last year's QB3, Ian Book.

Heck... Some may even argue that there are days when he is outplaying Marcus Mariota.

In 11-on-11 drills during the Eagles' ninth practice of the summer, Tanner led the third-team offense down the field on one of the longer and better drives of camp so far. An impressive preseason could help him supplant Ian Book and win a job on the active roster.

Keep that in mind as we watch on Saturday. Here are several other thoughts and theories we'll be pondering as well.
