Are the Eagles really going to put Britain Covey back on this team's active roster? Does Greedy Williams have a shot?

We're thinking six wide receivers make the squad. We're also banking on the theory that, when Philly introduces their initial 53-man roster, six cornerbacks will be on that portion of the depth chart.

Let's make long stories short. Good players are going to be left off of this roster.

On the offensive side of the ball, A.J. Brown, DeVonte Smith, Quez Watkins, and Olamide Zaccheaus will make the roster at wide receiver. Darius Slay, James Bradberry, Avonte Maddox, and Kelee Ringo feel like locks. There are also days when it feels like Zech McPhearson is in.

Questions come to mind almost immediately. With guys like Deon Cain, Greg Ward, and Deon Cain hanging around, can Philly afford to dedicate an open roster spot to Britain Covey? He's a mediocre returner at best. Then, there's Greedy Williams. He isn't making any plays.

Josh Jobe made the team last season. Eli Ricks has our attention. Don't be shocked if Greedy is dismissed.

Doesn't it feel like the Eagles are going to have to make a major decision about Joseph Ngata when final cuts loom?

Ladies and gentlemen, if you were unaware of who Joseph Ngata was coming into camp, trust us on this one. That won't be the case as we navigate our way through three preseason games.

He hails from 'Wide Receiver U' (Clemson). He stands at six-foot-three and tips the scales at 217 pounds. Again, it seems counter productive to keep Covey on the roster because he is supposed to be a great returner when there is a legitimate third-down and red zone threat waiting in the wings.

Stay tuned. A solid preseason showing could make him hard to ignore.
