6 Eagles who are playing their way out of Philadelphia's plans for 2024
As always, we can expect to see some Eagles roster turnover beginning in March.
It's a cold world we live in. The sports world is even colder. Look no further than our Philadelphia Eagles if you're looking for examples of that theory.
Roster turnover was a topic of discussion last offseason, and the one before that, and the one before that. It will again be so when we close the book on the NFL's current campaign and crown a champion.
It will again be time to think about juggling the Birds' roster after Philly hoists the Vince Lombardi Trophy (or when they are eliminated from contention). Let's hope the former option is the one we'll see.
In the meantime, a fatigued and sometimes injured squad has allowed us to identify some of the guys who may be disqualifying themselves from being a part of the future plans. Here are six possibilities. Let's see if your list matches ours.
Eli Ricks, cornerback
As exciting as Eli Rick's preseason was, it was wise to be cautious with one's optimism. After all, he was playing against guys who were struggling to earn jobs on their teams.
Here's the thing. He's talented. Philly has misused him to some degree, asking him to fill in at slot cornerback when he's more of an outside guy.
He deserves to be on someone's roster, but will that be Philly's? He's running out of time to solidify himself as a clear-cut choice to be a part of the future plans.
