Jordan Poyer, safety

Jordan Poyer was a seventh-round draft choice of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013, the 218th-overall choice. Lane Johnson was taken in that draft class. So was Zach Ertz and Bennie Logan.

Philadelphia selected another safety 82 spots before Poyer, Earl Wolff. During two seasons in the City of Brotherly Love, Wolff appeared in 18 games with seven starts. He collected 52 tackles, six pass breakups, and an interception. He spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington, and the Indianapolis Colts but never appeared in another NFL game. Poyer has a First-team All-Pro (2021)
and Pro Bowl nod (2022) on his resume.

The rest of the stat line is as follows: 11 NFL seasons, 706 tackles, 11 tackles, 24 interceptions, 50 pass breakups, and eight forced fumbles. Wow, it makes one think about what could have been.

Rasul Douglas, a cornerback who should have been a safety

Rasul Douglas was an Eagles third-round draft choice in 2017. In three seasons, he racked up 118 tackles and five interceptions. He's currently on the Green Bay Packers roster and has really turned the corner, tallying 142 tackles, a sack, nine interceptions, and two defensive TDs in the past two seasons.

Here's a random thought. What if Philly had moved him to safety? That would be fun, right?
