The preseason slate will help teach us much about the Eagles roster.

As training camp rolls on, many of the young Philadelphia Eagles continue to gain the trust of their coaches, but we'd like to see more from at least two of the veterans. What do you expect? Summertime has truly increased our thirst for another NFL regular season.

Following an open practice at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, the Birds returned for another session three days later on Wednesday. DeVonta Smith was excused due to personal reasons. James Bradberry returned to work with no physical limitations. Devon Allen got some work but is limited by a calf issue.

Deon Cain and Patrick Johnson were unable to participate as both heal from ankle injuries. Nakobe Dean is also back to work, albeit in a limited capacity. Guess what? It's game week!

Philadelphia is expected to have a walkthrough on Thursday. Then, they'll travel to Baltimore for their first preseason clash, a Saturday night tilt with the Ravens. Trust us on this one. It won't be hard to get Birds fans in front of a television for that one.

Let's begin with a couple of question marks before turning our attention to a couple of handful of guys that the coaching staff is really getting excited about.
