Just for kicks, let's take a moment and check out what's available to the Eagles in free agency in terms of defensive backs.

Six games of the NFL season are in our rearview mirror, and if you're like us, your heads are spinning already. How in the heck did the Philadelphia Eagles lose that game to the New York Jets?

The answer to that question isn't difficult to drum up. Self-inflicted wounds like four turnovers never help. The same can be said about injuries. The Birds have been juggling bodies in their secondary all season.

Zech McPhearson was lost for the season before the regular season began. Avonte Maddox was lost in Week 2 during the home opener.

Philly entered their most recent game knowing they were without Darius Slay and Sidney Brown. Reed Blankenship, Bradley Roby, and Eli Ricks all left Week 6's game with injuries. That forced the Eagles to continue playing musical chairs with their secondary.

If they are interested, there are some attractive options that are currently available in free agency's pool. Philly probably doesn't need any of these guys, but let's take a look at them anyway.

If, for whatever reason, guys keep dropping like flies or they find themselves in a pinch where they're without key players for an extended amount of time, it may behoove them to place some of these guys on speed dial.
