Eagles both current and former kick off August on high notes

The Eagles have introduced us to a few characters over the years. Thankfully, most are the owners of immense character.

If you haven't figured it out yet, we absolutely adore the Philadelphia Eagles. Decades of watching and cheering for this team have led to one love affair after another. The best part is we've gotten to know some characters, but most importantly, more often than not, they all have character.

Darius Slay and our guy William 'Tra' Thomas give credence to that statement. We have turned the calendar's page from July to August, and don't look now. Birds both current and former are giving us reason to smile.

Should we expect anything less?

Darius Slay makes an Eagles fan happy while Tra Thomas places a smile on his biggest fan's face.

If you thought, Thursday would be about an open training camp practice session only, you don't know our Eagles. Things are never that simple. As the book closed on that one, we were all in a state of delirium.

Our Birds are back. Nearly 50,000 witnesses who showed up at a Thursday evening practice session can attest to that. We're talking about practice... Not a game... Practice... Sorry... We couldn't resist!

But, the night wasn't just about Jalen Hurts and the offense's nice showing, Eli Ricks picking off Kenny Pickett, or the beret Jason Kelce wore on his NFL Countdown debut. Darius Slay made the evening a pleasant affair for a young fan who made the trip from Texas. Meanwhile, franchise legend and Eagles Hall of Famer Tra Thomas put a smile on his biggest fan's face (and on the face of every Birds fan as well).

Can you imagine what that must have felt like for that young lady and for Tra's mom? We can only imagine!

Well done fellas! Well done!

We repeat because we can never get tired of saying this. The Eagles are the continued home of characters who are full of character.
