Dallas Goedert offered Saquon Barkley elite advice during his Week 1 hat trick

"Follow me, baby". Those of you who didn't make the trip to Brazil and, thus, enjoyed the Philadelphia Eagles' win over the Green Bay Packers on Peacock heard Dallas Goedert's advice if you were listening.

That's what Philly's TE1 said to Saquon Barkley following the former Nittany Lions' hat trick. You have to love 4K broadcasts and all of those close-ups and camera angles.

What we witnessed by Saquon Barkley was the best debut by an Eagles star since the NFL's merger of the 60s. No disrespect is intended for Terrell Owens' three-TD performance in 2004, but Saquon was truly masterful. We're also thankful for the tight end who helped clear a path for his third TD of the evening.

You've probably watched this highlight 200 times by now, Saquon Barkley's third TD of the Eagles' opening season win. Watch the push of the Eagles' O-line, and watch him get behind Number 88 in the white jersey for this one.

Reed Blankenship's second-half interception helped swing the momentum and pendulum in this one. That set up Philly for the score. Saquon kept churning the legs, but having a teammate like Dallas leading the way is always a good thing.

Some tight ends can block, but they can't catch to save their lives. Some are great receivers who can't block. Dallas Goedert is one of the rare NFL talents who does both with elite proficiency.

Now, Goedert won't always be the star of the offensive passing attack. Sharing the field with Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, and DeVonta Smith has a lot to do with that. There's only one football, so Dallas wasn't the focal part of the offense in Week 1.

He enjoyed a nice night though. He snagged four of five targets resulting in 31 receiving yards, and all of these great players on the Eagles offense will have their games where they're the hero.

Goedert's time is coming. He's too talented to be ignored, and we're expecting a healthy season. In an offense as creative as this one, we're expecting his first 1,000-yard season.
