Justin Evans, safety

It seems like it has been forever since this happened, but long before Jalen Hurts entered a new tax bracket with a massive extension and the Eagles extended Lane Johnson, long before there was an NFL Draft, Philadelphia signed Justin Evans and Nicholas Morrow... And, the did so on the same day.

Typically, the Eagles carry somewhere around five safeties. That's the number they have on their roster upon this story's release. That said, it would seem that Justin Evans, K'Von Wallace, Terrell Edmunds, Reed Blankenship, and Sydney Brown would all make the 53-man roster, but what if Philly adds another body to this position group late? Would that make Evans the odd man out?

Nicholas Morrow, linebacker

Nicholas Morrow probably isn't in any danger of being left off of the initial 53-man roster. He's on a one-year deal though, and seeing as how the Eagles tend to feature a revolving door at the linebacker position, nothing is guaranteed for him past this season.

Look at it this way. T.J. Edwards was a homegrown linebacker that produced Philly's highest tackle total during the 2022 NFL season. If the Birds didn't keep him around, why would they hang on to Morrow?
