We knew the Philadelphia Eagles were going to get everyone's best shot this season as the reigning champions of the National Football Conference. Favored by two scores versus the Washington Commanders, they entered the locker room down three at halftime.

Say what you will. Be upset with whoever, but one thing is certain. You can't blame DeVonta Smith for what's going on with an oft-times stagnant Eagles passing game. He is again doing work versus the Commanders on a Sunday afternoon.

DeVonta Smith is going to begin highlighting or circling these Eagles games versus the Commanders.

Entering Philly's fourth game of the 2023 NFL season, the Birds have been fortunate to see DeVonta Smith bring the heat in three games so far this season.

The numbers: 15 receptions, 206 receiving yards, two receiving TDs. He racked three of four targets in the first half of Week 4's game. His final catch of the half was a beauty (and it brought back memories of last season).

Seriously, what needs to be said after that? DeVonta is going to begin foaming at the mouth ahead of these games versus the Commanders, and honestly, we might be too.

You always have to throw out theories, win-loss totals, and previous matchups whenever divisional rivals face one another. The Birds are in a dogfight versus the hated Commanders. The winner of this one is going to have to hit the cold tub for the next three days.
