DeVonta Smith, seven other Eagles deserving game balls following Philly's victory versus Vikings

We're handing out game balls following the Eagles' second victory of 2023. Forgive us if we hand out too many.

Nick Sirianni doesn't really hand out game balls, but we will. Here are a handful of Eagles that we're very proud of after Week 2's victory.

Great teams aren't great all of the time. They are, however, great when they need to be. Philly has had some up and down moments during their first two games, but in each affair, guys stepped up to help lead this team to victory. Here are a handful of guys that we are really proud of this morning.

Nick Sirianni isn't going to throw out a ton of game balls, but we will. Forgive us if we hand out too many.

1. DeVonta Smith, wide receiver

All that needs to be stated about DeVonta Smith is his Week 2 stat line: Four receptions, 131 yards receiving, one receiving TD, a beautiful 54-yard reception on Philly's first drive, and a 32.8 yards-per-reception average.

He also recovered an onside kick to help close this one out. Good for you DeVonta! Good for you!

Perhaps Michael Kist said it best.

Clearly Kist was kidding. It's easy to see where he's coming from though.

2. D'Andre Swift, running back

It was quite the homecoming for the Philly native. Following D'Andre Swift's unofficial debut in Week 2 (we have decided the toss Week 1 out), there's only one question on everyone's minds. Why in the heck didn't the Eagles use this guy more versus the New England Patriots?

Let's talk about the defense and special teams.
