There's no game for the Philadelphia Eagles to play this Sunday. Truth be told, we're beginning to miss those. Don't fret if you agree. As the rapid pace that this calendar year is traveling, the regular season will be here before you know it. Can you believe it is already June?

The 1st came and went, and James Bradberry is still on the roster. We're also enjoying the first mandatory minicamp of Nick Sirianni's era as head coach. These are the BIrds though. The conversation can never be limited to on-field work alone.

Perhaps you heard? Joe Banner popped up recently. Let's just say he made a few waves, and that upset the shores for a few ticks in this paradise we call fandom and content creation. The subject? DeVonta Smith's recent extension.

DeVonta Smith slams the door shut on all conversations about the dollar amount on his contract extension.

Three years... 75 million... $51 million guaranteed... That sounds pretty good to us. Those are the details of the Slim Reaper's extension, one that many thought was fair on both sides once announced, but his former teammate at Alabama, Jaylen Waddle, has cashed in since then. So has Justin Jefferson. That prompted an aggressive tweet from former Eagles President Joe Banner on X.

Wait! We still call these tweets, right?

A mandatory minicamp practice that was open to the media came one day later. DeVonta, as you might imagine, was one of the guys that was requested for an interview. To his credit, he elected to take the high road.

“You can’t be counting the pockets of others. I’m where I want to be. At the end of the day, it’s still life changing for me.”

As Birdman once stated to The Breakfast Club... "Are y'all finished, or are y'all done? DeVonta is happy. That's all that should matter to him or to anyone else. Now that we have gotten that out of the way, let's get back to football, shall we?
