Don't blink. Things will move swiftly now, so you will miss something if you stop paying attention. At the time of this story's release, the Philadelphia Eagles have six training camp practice sessions in the books.

The most recent was a public affair in front of fans at Lincoln Financial Field. We're one week from their first preseason game.

If you aren't excited, check your pulse. There will be football every week until we reach the month of February. Let's hope the Birds are still involved and participating in that final game in New Orleans.

We have to be patient though. We haven't even reached the first preseason game yet, but again... we're almost there!

Week 1 (Fri, Aug 9 - 7:30 pm EST) - at Baltimore Ravens

Everyone knows how seriously the Ravens take preseason games. Everyone knows the Eagles don't share that same passion. As was the case in 2023, Philly's first preseason opponent is the Baltimore Ravens, but this one might be a snoozer, but that isn't why we tune in to games in August.

This will be our first opportunity to see some of the young guys. We know Cooper DeJean is out, but we expect to get a good look at the other rookies.

Week 2 (Thurs, Aug 15 - 7 pm EST) - at New England Patriots

Welcome to the Jerod Mayo era in New England. It appears there will be an open competition between Jacoby Brissett and Drake Maye for the Patriots' QB1 spot. Whether we see one of the other (or both) is up in the air.

The Pats are as workmanlike as they come. Still, with there only being three preseason games, our questions are about how much we will see their starters.

We don't expect to see much from Philly's starting unit... if we see them at all. This game will be preceded by at least one joint practice session. We'll see if another is announced.

Week 3 (Sat, Aug 24 - 1 pm EST) - Minnesota Vikings

The Eagles have hosted the Vikings during the past two regular seasons in Week 2. It's safe to say these teams know each other fairly well. The backups haven't competed against one another though.

They'll get there chance to do so in this one. This is the last opportunity for guys to make a good impression, but if someone is playing late in this one, we may need to question their standing in terms of earning a roster spot.
