Eagles 53-man roster and 16-man practice squad projection following preseason finale

Here are a few guesses on what the Eagles' 53-man roster might look like. Don't be shocked if the names change a few times between now and final roster cuts.

Running backs (4)

Kenneth Gainwell. D'Andre Swift, Rashaad Penny, Boston Scott

Say what you want about the 2023 Eagles and their chances of getting back to the Super Bowl and winning it. There's one statement that none of us can make. If things don't go according to plan, it won't be because the roster isn't talented, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Ladies and gentlemen, we can state this with confidence. Jalen Hurts has a ton of weapons at his disposal. Kenneth Gainwell, D'Andre Swift, Rashaad Penny, and Boston Scott claim the four spots on the roster's depth chart at the running back position.

Wide receivers (5)

A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Olamide Zaccheaus, Quez Watkins, Britain Covey

Britain Covey's lingering injury hasn't helped him much, but he's the best punt returner on the Eagles roster, even if we are only making that statement by default. For now, we add him to the roster as the sixth wide receiver. The top five are obvious.

Tight ends (3)

Dallas Goedert, Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra

Philadelphia walked into the preseason with a lot of bodies on the 90-man roster. All had opportunities to elevate themselves, but as time went on and the cream rose to the top, something dawned on us.

Dan Arnold, Tyree Jackson, and Brady Russell all have talent, but the top three guys at the position are Dallas Goedert, Jack Stoll, and Grant Calcaterra.
