We may have mentioned this earlier in the week. If we didn't, it was an oversight on our part because we certainly meant to do so. The band isn't totally back together yet, but some of the more popular members are beginning to show up for work and play a few notes. We expected to hear some news. It came on the eve of the Philadelphia Eagles' Week 6 battle with the New York Jets. Second-year linebacker and quarterback of the defense Nakobe Dean is active.

Philly announced they had opened a 21-day practice window for Dean earlier in the week. He, on Saturday, was officially elevated back to the 53-man roster from the injured reserve on Saturday. Philly also announced they had elevated Devon Allen and cornerback Mekhi Garner from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday's game. Both figure to provide insurance should any unforeseen injuries occur.

Other recent Eagles roster moves of note

It has been a busy week of roster moves for Philadelphia. Bradley Roby was signed to the active roster on Friday, and Justin Evans was placed on injured reserve. The latter will miss a minimum of four weeks of action. We'll be watching to see how he progresses.

Punter Braden Mann was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster one day earlier on Thursday. To fill the spot he vacated on the scout team, linebacker Brandon Smith has been signed.

Pay attention to Eagles media at about 90 minutes prior to kickoff. Week 6 inactives will be announced at that time, but we're aware that Jalen Carter, Quez Watkins, and Darius Slay will sit this one out.
