Eagles defense doesn't miss a beat

Last year, the Eagles finished as the number two overall defense in the league, in terms of yards per game given up. Over the course of the offseason, though, Philly lost some key names that were part of their vaunted defense. Players like Javon Hargrave and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson will be missed, but Philadelphia also retooled in a big way, specifically through the draft.

Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith and Kelee Ringo were all together last season in Georgia, and reunite now in Philly where they'll try to keep this unit atop the league. Where the Eagles truly won a year ago was in the pass rush department, when they finished with a league-high 70 sacks. If Philadelphia can continue to dominate defensively, they'll be right back where they were last year: the Super Bowl.

Eagles win the Super Bowl

Speaking of which, this is an obvious best-case scenario for any team, but only a select few can sensibly call it a realistic goal. The Eagles are one of those teams. Philadelphia has both the offensive and defensive firepower to get to the big game once more, but they'll need specific help from that aforementioned defense in order to get over the hump.

Will the Eagles' defense be good enough to stop the likes of Patrick Mahomes or Joe Burrow, assuming the top two teams in the AFC represent in the Super Bowl?
