Eagles fans enjoy latest Haason Reddick update while Jets fans voice disapproval
New York Jets headquarters in Florham Park, New Jersey is only about an hour and 52 minutes away from the Philadelphia Eagles' NovaCare Complex. It's for that reason that we all know a Jets fan or two and we constantly see the headlines that are written about them. Most of them are funny, like Mark Sanchez's 'Butt Fumble' and Bill Belichick's single day on the job as the team's head coach.
Why not continue the comedy routine? Haason Reddick has reportedly asked to be traded. Why is it that we aren't surprised? Oh well... Thank NFL Insider Jordan Schultz for the update.
By the way, did anyone else notice we have never even seen him with a teammate or in a photo opportunity while wearing the team's jersey?
If you're, lost fear not! Schultz provided a nice update to get you all brought up to speed. If you missed most of the comings and goings. Here's what's been happening:
"Sources: They were informed before acquiring Haason Reddick that his contract needed to be addressed. They made an offer prior to the trade with Philly, which Reddick turned down.
The team still went ahead with the trade without a deal in place. Reddick attended his press conference with the understanding that contract talks would continue, but I’m told no official proposal has been made since he joined the team in late March.
That’s where things stand, and it’s why Reddick has not been with the team at minicamp or training camp — and why today’s trade request was made.
It gets better (or worse, depending on how you look at it). You wouldn't believe what people began saying after the news broke about this one.
Howie Roseman wouldn't dare trade for this guy, would he?
We made the classic mistake. Rather than tap into reliable sources and check news channels after Schultz's report. Instead, we turned our attention to social media. Birds fans are having a ball with this, but can you believe people are discussing possible reunions?
Fear not! Jets GM has released a statement saying New York has no intention to trade him, but let's see what Jets fans are saying about this anyway.
Regardless of how you feel about this one, this story and its fallout is as comical as it gets. We were in favor of keeping Haason during free agency but disapprove of a potential return now. We'll say it again. The Jets' decades-long comedy routine continues.
Here's the most important part. The Eagles got a third-round pick and Bryce Huff for Haason Reddick. The Jets, regardless of what Joe Douglas says, potentially might wind up with nothing. Do you see why we brag about Howie Roseman now?
