Eagles fans, media react to a first-half Jekyll and Hyde performance versus Commanders
We'd love to be a fly on the wall to hear the halftime speech by Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. We imagine that there's some NSFW jargon being tossed around AND a few pats on some backs.
With two quarters in the books, a kelly and midnight green-tinged FedExField has been treated to a nightmare of sorts just two days ahead of Halloween. They have also been given reason to cheer.
An up-and-down roller-coaster ride versus Commanders is toying with the emotinal health of Eagles Nation.
Welp. the Birds were inconsistent. There were long stretches where they didn't do much right, but they finished the first half on a high note.
Following a red zone fumble, their defense allowed an impressive drive by Washington, one they slammed the door shut on with a fourth-down stop. Philly's final offensive drive produced a touchdown by way of a highlight-reel catch by A,J, Brown.
Then, they let the Commanders march back down the field and kick a 61-yarder to give Washington a 17-10 lead at the break. Needless to say, the reactions by the media, legends, and fans on X have been all over the place. Mostly however everyone is frustrated!
The Eagles have done all that they can to give one away versus the hated Washington Commanders, but they're in striking distance of their divisional rivals in what's been a frustrating Week 8 affair.
30 minutes remain. Something has to give, but the Birds have the tools to turn the tide and get it done in this one.
