With the NFL's deadline for final cuts looming, we take a gander at the locks to make the Eagles' roster at every position.

One can only imagine what the young men on the back half of the Philadelphia Eagles' roster are thinking. We tackled rookie minicamps. organized team activities, training camp, and the preseason. Here we sit. Many of their fates await a decision, one they have no control of. Oh well, that's life in the NFL, especially when we reach the end of August and the early portion of September.

If our math is correct, 41 players on the Eagles' depth chart are locks to make the squad. No one should expect a ton of surprises. Most of this roster is set, and we have known who the locks are for months.

Possible trade for Jonathan Taylor pending (yeah, right), here are the guys who have nothing to worry about as we await the NFL's deadline for final cuts and the unveiling of Philly's initial 53-man roster.

Quarterback: Jalen Hurts, Marcus Mariota, Tanner McKee

Well, he did it! Tanner McKee was drafted 188th overall during Round 6 of the 2023 NFL Draft. He was asked to compete with Ian Book for the opportunity to be the third quarterback on Philly's depth chart, and he made short work of that assignment, vanquishing Book with ease.

There's no way the Eagles will try to sneak him through waivers and run the risk of losing him to an interested team, especially following an impressive training camp and preseason. Perhaps he'll take over for Marcus Mariota as the full-time QB2, but we're a long way from having that discussion. Let's discuss the rest of the offense.
