The Eagles defense looks solid. There are stars everywhere.

Manufacturing 70 sacks for a second consecutive season will be a tall order. Expect some growing pains by Sean Desai's unit as youngsters will be asked to play key roles, but there's reason to be excited as we exit the Jonathan Gannon era.

EDGE/Defensive line: Brandon Graham, Josh Sweat, Haason Reddick, Nolan Smith, Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Milton Williams

No one should have any issues with the names on this list. Now, here's the fun part, trying to figure out what type of value the Birds place on guys like Moro Ojomo and Kentavius Street.

Linebacker: Nakobe Dean, Zach Cunningham, Christian Elliss

Shaun Bradley's injury changes the look of this corps and the Eagles' special teams unit. The emergence of Christian Elliss gives us all hope for the future. He is an ST maven and talented enough to earn defensive snaps.

Cornerback: Darius Slay, James Bradberry, Avonte Maddox, Josh Jobe, Kelee Ringo

Mario Goodrich, Eli Ricks, and Mekhi Garner have all outplayed Kelee Ringo this summer, but Ringo will make this team by virtue of being a fourth-round selection. There's no pressure. The former Bulldog has time to develop.

Safety: Reed Blankenship, Sydney Brown

You can argue that the Eagles could keep all five of their safeties. You can also argue K'Von Wallace, Justin Evans, and Terrell Edmunds both on and off of the roster.

Reed Blankenship and Sydney Brown are safe. We'll see about everyone else.

The specialists: Jake Elliott (kicker), Rick Lovato (long snapper)

Yeah, we should probably throw Arryn Siposs on this list, but we don't want to. Sure, he'll probably be on the roster, but we support every theory that supports the idea that Philly's punter isn't here yet. Let's hope that proves to be true.

Here are other Eagles stories to keep you busy.
