Eagles free agency tracker: Philly dominates news cycle and rumor mill
Where there's smoke, there's fire. How many times have you heard that? That may not be the norm in the NFL or with our Philadelphia Eagles. More often than not, smoke leads us into thicker smoke, and the fires we do see are often calmed quickly. A day of legal tampering has changed that though. This fan base is on fire.
Bryce Huff, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and Saquon Barkley were reportedly set to become three of the newest Eagles. Howie Roseman made it happen. DaVante Parker, Zack Baun, and Matt Hennessy have also been added. Rick Lovato and Braden Mann were re-signed. Their deals aren't official until Wednesday, March 11th when the new league year begins, but while fans have expressed varying levels of satisfaction with both signings, two things can't be denied.
First, the Philadelphia Eagles are better than they were a few daya ago, and second, while we may not see many more splash signings, something tells us Howie Roseman isn't done.
The Eagles have dominated the news cycle and rumor mill. That will probably continue for a few more weeks.
Keeping up with the Eagles comings and goings can be a tough task, especially during the offseason. It appears that won't change during the free agency frenzy.
Jonathan Greenard, Frankie Luvu, and Xavier McKinney saw lines drawn that connected them to Philly. All landed in other cities. Still, as great as the news of Bryce Huff's signing was (Dianna Russini hit the nail on the head with that one). The Saquon Barkley acquisition may have stolen the show. Both stories rocked both Philly and New York though.
As Tom Pelissero reports, Philly is actively fielding calls in an attempt to trade Josh Sweat, and with everything that has transpired, it feels more likely that Haason Reddick's time with the team he grew up cheering for is ending.
