Defensive line: Matthew Ioannidis

The Philadelphia Eagles have a solid defense. There are, however, a few players that are worth a look.

The pass rush features Josh Sweat, Brandon Graham, Haason Reddick, and the returning Derek Barnett, but adding Matthew Ioannidis to that already-loaded unit wouldn't hurt. After only lasting one season with the Carolina Panthers, the defensive end could follow his fellow Temple alum, Reddick, and join the Eagles nest on a prove-it deal. The question is can he beat out Barnett for a roster spot?

Linebacker: Kwon Alexander

Kwon Alexander has had a pretty good NFL career thus far. Adding him as a depth piece to what is arguably the weakest position for the Eagles would be an absolute win.

Standout players were discovered at OTAs. Nakobe Dean and Nicholas Morrow will start. Christian Elliss is making a name for himself.

Add Alexander to that group, and things get interesting. The Eagles would again have a solid unit despite losing Kyzir White and T.J Edwards in free agency.

Defensive back: John Johnson III

The safety position has been a topic of discussion among Eagles fans and the Philly media all offseason. Marcus Epps left quietly. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson left loudly. The Eagles signed Terell Edmunds and Justin Evans to one-year deals. They drafted Sydney Brown in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

While the starting safety spots are still clearly up for competition, the addition of John Johnson III could add a lot of talent to that group, even if he doesn't end up on the first unit.
