Eagles GM Howie Roseman lambastes Mike Florio live on Pro Football Talk
If you have followed Howie Roseman's story as Philadelphia Eagles vice president/general manager, you are aware of a few things about his journey. While sharing the greatest speech in the history of victory parades, Jason Kelce once so eloquently, described one aspect perfectly. After Chip Kelly buried him in the equipment room, got himself fired, and Howie rose from the ashes like a phoenix, a "different Howie Roseman" emerged.
As Eagles G.M., Howie has taken shots and criticism, but he has become one of the game's best. Trust us on this one. He knows his value, and now, with two Pro Football Writers of America Executive of the Year nods in his back pocket (2017, 2022), he has become more confident about what he's doing.
These days, Howie has no problem shutting down heckling fans or the host of one of the NFL's most-watched platforms. Recently, he appeared on NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk with Mike Florio, and let's just say he was ready for all of the smoke.
Howie Roseman calls Mike Florio one of the NFL's top-five conspiracy theorists on live television.
Say what you will about certain outlets, ESPN or Pro Football Focus. People criticize, but they always tune their antennae to what those platforms have to say.
Mike Florio is another of those sources, love him or hate him, that we seemingly can't get enough of. We all check out Pro Football Talk's content occasionally, right? Well, recently, Mike invited Howie Roseman for a chat and wanted to discuss Jonathan Gannon and those 'tampering issues involving the Arizona Cardinals. It appears Howie wasn't interested.
Florio asked the question, as he should. Howie stated he rather place that moment in the Eagles' rear-view mirror, as he should. What came next was a classic moment that would make any reality show insanely jealous.
Now, while most of us can probably name five conspiracy theorists to rank ahead of Mike Florio, the point here is, again, that isn't the same guy that Chip Kelly buried in the equipment room years ago. As Baby a.k.a. 'Birdman' once so eloquently put it. You all are going to have to put some respect on Howie Roseman's name.
We have no issue with Florio's attempt to answer the question. He's a journalist looking for content in May, a month when the NFL is as active. We have no issue with Howie's response. He's a general manager that has no desire to make an NFL coach/former employee look bad.
Both guys are doing their job and doing it well here. We just enjoy watching Howie go full 'Hulk Smash' occasionally.
