Kickoff approaches. We knew the Philadelphia Eagles would be undermanned for their clash with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football. A.J. Brown will sit this one out.

He showed up on Friday's injury report as a limited participant because of a hamstring issue. Head coach Nick Sirianni described what he was feeling as 'tightness'. Coach informed the Philly media that he'd be evaluated and we'd see how things went.

Well... Things didn't go well.

A.J. Brown AND Johnny Wilson sat out of practice on Saturday. Both were listed as 'questionable' for Monday night's game. Wilson also has a hamstring issue.

A.J. was downgraded to 'out' on Sunday. Fred Johnson, Isaiah Rodgers, Tyler Steen, Devin White, and Milton Williams were all full participants on Saturday which is a good sign leading into MNF.

Eagles announce roster moves just over four hours before kickoff.

Philly announced practice squad elevations and roster moves a few hours before kickoff. Patrick Johnson has been waived. Nick Gates has been signed to the active roster. Parris Campbell and E.J. Jenkins have been elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for Monday Night Football

Easgles Inactives List for Week 1 Game Against Falcons

The full list of Eagles Week 1 inactives won't be released until 90 minutes before kickoff. Jeff McLane reported that sources say Devin White won't be active. Once the official report was released, we learned his sources were correct (as always). And, look! Johnny Wilson is active!

Key Absences and Their Impact

Offensive Impact

A.J. Brown's absence opens the door for several of his Eagles teammates. We expect that Dallas Goedert will see a few more touches (and Jahan Dotson will see more than the one target he was given in Week 1.

Parris Campbell's elevation from the practice squad to the active roster for tonight's game is interesting. It's doubtful that he'd be involved in the offensive attack unless there's an emergency though. Johnny Wilson is also active, and that pushes him further down the depth chart.

EJ Jenkins, Philly's other pre-game elevation, will serve as the third tight end.

Defensive Impact

Devin White wasn't expected to start. This second level of the defense belongs to Nakobe Dean and Zack Baun now, but we're hoping White recovers fully.

Trust us on this one. The Birds can do a lot worse than fielding a former first-rounder as one of their reserve options.

Special Teams Impact

Philly loses a valuable special teams player in Patrick Johnson. Other guys will be asked to step up.
