We came across a nice story recently that led us to an amazing interview.

There's really no reason why you might try this, but let's say you determined that you wanted to do a case study and ask 100 Philadelphia Eagles fans to give you a history lesson on the Birds. Here's how that would end up. We know this without trying it. You would wind up hearing 100 different stories.

90 of them would probably be spot on. Paradigms would vary, but for the most part, most would be accurate.

Now, what does that mean? If we were to guess, we'd begin by saying this team is over 90 years old. Eagles fans span different age demographics, belief systems, backgrounds, etcetera. We pay attention to different things. Our stories are different. We love this team for different reasons.

Think about Nick Foles and Carson Wentz, two guys we'd hear about in everyone's history lesson. Depending on who you talk to, they'd be painted in different hues.

Some say Philly should have moved on from Carson after Nick led Philly to its first Vince Lombardi Trophy. After all, who moves on from a Super Bowl-winning QB, right?

Some say Carson was entitled and weak mentally. Some love him unconditionally. Both arguments are fair and correct, but to better understand Mr. Wentz, it would make more sense to ask someone who knows him. Hmmm... How about Nick Foles?

Nick Foles shares an honest opinion about Carson Wentz.

If you're looking for some reading material, we have something you'd want to check out. CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin recently penned a good one:

Nick Foles reveals truth behind Carson Wentz relationship, predicts how ex-Eagles QB will fare with Chiefs.

The title alone sucks you in, right? So, how do these two men feel about one another?

Both of whom are hugely responsible for the Eagles' lone Lombardi Trophy. Both are companion pieces in history, and even though Carson has stated more than once (though not with any ill will) that he wishes he had been on the field to lead the Birds to glory, it appears that there is now ill will between them.

"I wouldn't say there was tension between us because we always got along in a respectful manner."

The quote comes from another former Eagle, Chris Long's, podcast. Saint Nick chatted it up with his former teammate recently.

"Man, that's not easy for him. To play the year he had, to get injured, and then see the team go and ... we win a Super Bowl. That's not easy, because he wants to be out there playing, he's a competitor. So there's definitely emotions that go into that, and I'll let him speak on that. But, at the end of the day, between us, it was always a respectful relationship."

Foles, like many of us is a Carson Wentz fan, and he still wishes the best for his former teammate.

"I cheer him on. Like, I was just texting with him the other day. I sent him some 'Dad Szn' hats for the guys in Kansas City. That was my contact. ... He didn't have to do this, but he sent me a picture of his 'Dad Szn' hat, his coffee, and reading the Bible. ... He wore our golf hat to [a preseason] game. ... This should show people, like, there's no issue with what happened. ... [But] drama sells, right?"

How about this next part?

"I love that Carson is in Kansas City,.. I think that's a great fit. ... Pat Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL, but if Carson needs to play, Carson will help them succeed."

Nick also has a relationship with the Chiefs organization, It was there where he reinvigorated his love for the game and found himself again. He would not have returned to Philly had it not been for his time there. He would not have led the Eagles to a title had it not been for his love there.

Nick is right though. Drama does indeed sell, and again, whenever we tell the story of the Philadelphia Eagles, two names will certainly be mentioned.

They're tied to and compared to one another. That won't change for as long as the game is played, but two things are certain.

First, we owe both a ton of thanks. We needed both to win that first Super Bowl. Second, there's no beef or animosity here, even if some would like to assume there is.
