A pair of Eagles legends deliver a showstopper at WrestleMania 40 in Philly
It was cold. It didn't matter. The fans showed up at the Philadelphia Eagles' home, Lincoln Financial Field, anyway. They packed the house to watch the premier event in professional wrestling, WrestleMania. The WWE didn't disappoint and most certainly delivered the goods.
Stars were everywhere, in the ring and in the audience, we saw The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Jade Cargill. Heck, we saw Gunther's Intercontinental Title reign end, but the highlight for us was seeing two Eagles legends don luchador masks and set the evening on fire.
Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson deliver the assist to Rey Mysterio and Andrade in a celebration of modern luche libre.
We were teased for a good portion of the week about a possible Eagles cameo at WrestleMania. We knew Jason Kelce had been asked about attending. Seeing the best right tackle work out with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins gave us the inclination that Lane Johnson might join him,
We got our wishes granted. WrestleMania 40 was the backdrop for a celebration of modern luche libre. Rey Mysterio and Andrade battled Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio. Things came to a head as two familiar faces helped Rey and company out with a little 'outside interference'.
The result? The Hall of Famer, Rey, delivered a '619' and a win for his LWO. Take a look.
Seriously... They could have ended the night after that. Night one of the biggest event in sports entertainment was a huge success. Night two should be equally as entertaining. We just hope that it isn't as cold.
