Eagles may never have a better opportunity to trade Kenny Pickett

If the Eagles want to consider moving Kenny Pickett and adding something valuable, the time is now!

Amazon's first Thursday Night Football broadcast of the season is behind us. The second regular-season week of the NFL season is officially underway. The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the teams who are fortunate enough to state there were no franchise-altering injuries experienced as of yet. Knock on wood friends because this great game of football that we love is a demolition derby.

With less than a minute left to play in Week 1, the Birds saw a franchise QB go down, albeit one on the other sideline. This is why everyone holds their breath each time Jalen Hurts is contacted on smacked on a design run.

While no one wants to see injury, football is a results-driven business, and the most desired result seen by any franchise is winning. Our hearts go out to wounded players as we know they have families to feed and legacies to build, but the show must go on without them.

That being said, something dawned on us.

The Eagles may never see a better opportunity to trade Kenny Pickett.

Philly's new franchise QB recently announced his engagement. Good for him! He's firmly entrenched as the Eagles franchise signal-caller for years to come.

Their backup is a former first-round draft choice who was added as insurance this past offseason. He's here just in case there are any unfortunate injuries... We just weren't thinking at the time that his value would increase if there were any unexpected injuries experienced by other franchises.

Tanner McKee is the third-stringer, and in all honesty, he may be better equipped to lead Philly's offense if Jalen is sidelined. That said, Kenny's trade value just increased wouldn't you say?

The Eagles may never have a better opportunity to ship Number 7 off and 'get something of value'. A few teams come to mind almost immediately.

Miami Dolphins

Our heart goes out to Tua Tagovailoa. It truly does. Rather than debate whether he should call it a career or not, we're more hopeful right now that he takes care of himself and focuses on healing from injury.

But, again, the show must go on. The Dolphins are a good team with playoff expectations. They aren't going to cancel the remainder of the season, but they may want to consider whether their chances are better with Pickett or Skylar Thompson.

Cleveland Browns

We've seen enough. Deshaun Watson doesn't have much left. And, now there's more legal trouble? Sheesh. After letting Joe Flacco bounce, their options after Watson are Jameis Winston and Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

DTR is potentially better than Pickett. Jameis is already be better than Pickett, but Howie has a relationship with one of his former executive assistants, Browns GM Andrew Berry.

Cleveland probably doesn't need Pickett, but it may be worth making a call to see if a conversation anyway. After all, after seeing them hand the Eagles Donovan McNabb and Carson Wentz in a sense, we've gotten used to seeing the Browns throw the Birds an alley-oop pass.

Green Bay Packers

We mentioned the Eagles watching a QB injury firsthand in Week 1 earlier. Our hearts go out to Jordan Love as they went out to Tua.

Love will return this season, but what do they do in the meantime? Malik Willis may not be the answer. Is he better than Pickett? Is he a worse option than Pickett? Do we know the answer?

Also, each of the Browns' rivals (the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and Minnesota Vikings) scored wins in Week 1. The Pack can't lose too much ground before Jordan Love returns.
