Eagles news: Britain Covey's momentum, Birds on television
It's training camp. The Philadelphia Eagles coverage is aplenty. The only way that you might miss some of it is you'd have to intentionally ignore your phone and social media handles.
Who are we kidding? These are our Birds. Even that might not do the trick. Philly has been kind of hard to ignore these days.
Let's have some fun. Here are a couple of nuggets we hope you enjoyed as much as we did. If you missed them live, that's okay. You know we have you covered.
Eagles news: Britain Covey is stringing together some impressive showings at training camp.
How about a hand for Britain Covey? He was one of four rookie undrafted free agents that would find their way onto the 53-man roster. Reed Blankenship, Josh Jobe, and Josh Sills were the other three.
Twice (in 2022 and 2023), he was waived during final roster cuts and signed to the practice squad the next day. He enjoyed a couple of game-day elevations before the BIrds added him as a full-time member of the roster in both instances.
Things started rough. Security didn't recognize him once and told him he couldn't park in the team parking lot. On game days, he was beaten up as a punt returner, and he looked like a crash-test dummy.
He's gotten his legs under him now. Last season, he established himself as one of the NFL's top returners. He's also shined during the current Eagles training camp, showing moxie as a wide receiver and earning public praise by head coach Nick Sirianni.
Eagles news: Philly's training camp practices seem to be the hot spot.
Eagles training camp is never short of a few eyes, and the first five days have practice have brought onlookers from all walks of life. Hey, these are the Birds, right? Why wouldn't anyone want to peek behind the curtain to see what's transpiring?
We saw recent appearances by Jameer Nelson, Aaron Boone, the Liverpool coaching staff, and our not-so-favorite official. We saw media members that we know and love.
Eagles training camp is better than a 70s dance club or a 90s lounge it seems. Just ask Kay Adams and NFL Network. Both stopped by the NovaCare Complex recently. AJ Brown and Jalen Hurts have both been interviewed after training camp for NFL Network's training camp coverage, Adams landed a lot of footage for her UP & Adams show. Here are a few highlights!
So, here's what we learned. Howie Roseman won't find his way in front of a microphone that often, but we have learned that Kay Adams can land him for an interview. So can Jason Kelce for his New Heights podcast and the Speak crew on FS1 (Emmanuel Acho and LeSean McCoy).
That's it for now at Eagles training camp. We'll see what type of content another workout session provides.
